Muse App _ 1.3 Download for Android/iOS - Discussions

Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, announced on September 8, 2026. Unlike a chatbot that only answers questions, it is built to carry out tasks: sending emails, booking travel, filling out forms, comparing options and making purchases with the user's approval. It runs on a dedicated cloud computer called Muse Secure VM, is powered by Meta's Muse Spark model, and can be reached in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp. At launch it is available in the United States only.

What Muse is

Meta's launch post describes Muse as a personal agent that helps people stay on top of things, takes tasks and projects off their plate, and turns long-term goals into action plans. You tell it what you want done, and it plans the steps, then works through them. It can open a browser, fill in forms and negotiate on your behalf. For longer jobs it keeps working after you close the app and comes back when something changes or when it needs your approval, such as before sending an email or making a purchase. Meta's examples include selling a car for more, lowering a bill and adjusting a training plan.

Axios reported that Muse lives in a chat interface like a text thread, that users can name their agent and give it an avatar, and that it runs on a built-in browser that the user can watch. Bloomberg listed shopping, buying movie tickets, scheduling appointments and filling out a school permission slip as launch examples.

Muse is not Meta AI, Muse Spark or Muse Image

Meta has used the Muse name for several things in 2026, which makes searching confusing.

• Muse is the agent product launched on September 8, 2026.
• Muse Spark is the model. Meta introduced it on April 8, 2026 as the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs, and the Muse agent is powered by it.
• Muse Image is an image-generation product Meta introduced on July 7, 2026.
• Meta AI is Meta's existing assistant across its apps. 9to5Mac notes that Meta AI also launched a more capable desktop app on the Mac in August.

How it is built: Muse Secure VM and Sentinel

Meta says personal agents need a new kind of secure computer, so each person gets Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine in the cloud that holds the agent and the person's connected data and credentials. Meta lists these protections:

• A separate Sentinel agent runs on the same machine, kept apart from Muse at the system level, and nothing Muse does reaches the internet unless the Sentinel approves it.
• Muse cannot see passwords or payment methods. Credentials go into secure storage that Muse can use without viewing.
• Muse checks with you before sensitive actions and shows an audit trail of what it has done and plans to do.
• You choose which apps it connects to and how much access it gets, for example reading email versus sending it, and you can disconnect at any time.
• You can opt out of your interactions being used to train Meta's AI models, and Meta says Muse does not share conversations or VM data with its ad systems.

Memory, connectors and payments

Muse remembers what matters to a person and can act on details mentioned only once, such as turning a saved recipe reel into a grocery list or remembering a friend's dietary restrictions before sending invites. You can tell it to forget specific things. Reuters, cited by TechNode, reports that it connects to app categories including email, calendars, payments, health, shopping and smart-home services.

For checkout, Meta says Muse can pay with Link by Stripe, which generates a one-time-use card so the agent never has the real card number, and that it is the first AI agent covered by Link's purchase protections. Meta says Shop Pay and 1Password support are coming soon, without dates. The full list is on the features page and in capabilities.

Availability and price

• Where: US only at launch, on iOS, Android, the web at muse.ai and in WhatsApp. TechNode, citing the AP, says the first release is for adults 18 and older, and Meta has not announced timing for other regions.
• Mac: 9to5Mac reports a Muse app for Mac that works across apps, files, calendar, notes and messages on the computer. Sources differ on the exact release date in mid-September.
• AI glasses: Meta says Muse is coming soon to its AI glasses, with no date.
• Cost: Meta says it is free for most of what people need, with subscriptions for heavier use. Reuters, citing a Meta spokesperson, reported paid plans at $20 and $100 a month. Meta has not published how the tiers differ beyond extra usage, so check Meta before paying.

What is still unclear

Meta has not announced launch dates outside the US, the limits of the free tier, or when Muse Confidential VM will ship. Independent testing of how reliably Muse completes tasks has not been reviewed for this site. Treat "first personal AI agent built for everyone" as Meta's own marketing claim.
